Mikiya is now 17 months old and holding her own at about 19 pounds,we were good all through the summer with no major illnessess, but my oh my how that can change so quickly,so this week alone she has developed an eye infection,RSV yet again, and she had a huge bad rash with hives that a doctor believes is a peanut allergy,i beg to differ. What mother of a preemie would even give their child peanuts....surely not me.
Mikiya needed to be medicated but all of us mothers know that there are so many medications that we cannot gives our prems,no motrin......it cause's the lungs to work harder and makes breathing difficult, tempra you can give them...but may not always work as our babies were doped up with so much morphine as neonates as well as with other medications that it mostly proves unaffective, tylenaol ..same problem.
Coughing fits you just have to deal with or administer inhalers to open the lungs cause we cannot use a cough suppressant, they keep the fluids in the lungs and then we have a problem or therefore several.
Had i known that one day i would walk into an emergency room and actually be known by doctor's and nurse's by name, calling telehealth ontario....Hi Mrs.Murdock ...how are you..is everything ok with Mikiya?
Everybody seems to have known what i have been through and alike with Mikiya,i don't think there isn't a nurse or doctor that i have not yet met or do not know by name.
It's actually kinda crazy but good i guess as they all now treat her and i the same and they know what methods of treatment i prefer and they all know i know how to use the medical equipment....which can at time cause them to slack off,on the contrary ,i'am one of those people that you all cringe at...i honestly have never waited in the E.R for endless hours,i'am usually greeted upon entry and walked right through....yes i get alot of dirty looks and people have complained.
