continue

I was told that without amniotic fluid the baby's lungs could not grow, they could not exspand and that they would be plastic like.I was told that even if she survived inside me that upon birth her lungs would just burst,it was even more strange when we looked at ultrasounds and seen fluid in the baby's bladder.I asked the doctor's if they could see anything physically wrong with my baby at this point in an ultrasound and they couldn't,so i couldn't terminate without physical findings. They said that she was starting to curl up,that she would never have any muscle mass.My goal was just to hold on and get through this in any way i could. At 26 weeks my water broke,a whole 11mm,which is equal to a pop bottle cap filled.I went to our local hospital where i tested postive for fluid loss and i was transported to McMaster Hospital.I had to stay at Mac until i delivered as they thought i would go into labour within a few hours to a few days.Nothing happened my fluid was building again but never got high enough for anything,i had numerous ultrasounds,Baby was still breech and we were just waiting, after three days nothing happened and i signed out of Mac, to go home and lay in my own bed.I continued going back and forth twice a weeke plus seeing my regular OBGYN here in the falls, and having regular scans here as well.I continued to lose fluid sporatically here and there, and had small bleeds in between. So now at this point i had severe oligohydramnios,a chronic placental abruption and on top of that i had pprom..premature preterm rupture of the membranes.Baby was still alive and doing well and growing,we were watching her closely. We knew she was around three pounds by now and was now beginning to get compressed in the womb as everything around her was starting to cave in on her,we knew a premature birth was coming but we didn't know ow early she was going to be.Alot happened after that, like rutine testing and steroid shots for baby's lungs,we were perparing forthe worst,i was told that my baby wasn't going to survive, but in my heart i knew she would i had this feeling. The time that was coming finally arrived, but it happened strange. It was April 13 and everybody went to bed even i did but i couldn't sleep,i got back up and sat and watched tv,i finally went to bed roughly at 3am.I woke up at 8am and i felt wet,i thought i had lost more fluid,i lifted the sheets and i turned to look feeling more fluid coming out,i noticed it wasn't fluid but bright red blod,i had no pain at all...nothing..I waited for movement and pushed on my belly and i got a kick back,ok she was still alive,i knew i washemhoraging, but what do i do now,i sent troy to the corner store to get me some pads as i had a towel betweenmy legs and i called Mac to see what to do,needless to say i got to our hospital and then transferred to mac as soon as a resesatation nurse arrived as they would exspecting me to code.I arrived at mac, took a pee,got blood worl done and was wisked off for an emergency c-section within 10 minutes of getting there, she was born in bad shape, she coded..flat lined and then i did.One team was on here and another on me,we both came back ready to fight.
